Depressing,darklovedramawiththinstoryline,thatmakesyouwonderwhetherthemakersbelieveinlifeatall.Themaleprotagonistisconstantlyrunningintoproblemsandgetsbeatenuptimeandtimeagain,somuchsothatafterawhileIcouldnothelplaughing,whichcannothavebeentheintentionofthemakers:theyarevèry,vèryserious.ThecruxofthefilmseemstobeasharpcommentonthemoneydrivenGermansociety,inwhichitisimpossibletoshowanyrealaffection;ofcoursethiscouldbeadilemmaofthemakersthemselves:moneyisnottheproblem,butwhatyoudowithit.Notforgottenistoincludeanextremerightwingmanwhoseself-proclaimedpurposeinlifeitistofreethestreetofsociallyundesirableelements.Itisallveryheavysymbolismwithnorelief,butitiscertainlywell-madewithascriptthat-asthefilmprogresses-becomeslessandlesssurprising.Thetwoactingleadsaregood;finecinematography.(janonderwatereee
